7.6.2 Collecting host monitoring history
This subsection explains the information that can be collected as host monitoring history and how to collect monitoring history information.
When HA Monitor collects host monitoring history, it records host slowdowns in the monitoring history file regardless of whether a failure has occurred. If the duration of a slowdown on the local host or the length of time during which no alive message is received from the remote host does not exceed the host failure monitoring time but does exceed a threshold value set by the user (time when host monitoring history is to be obtained), HA Monitor records a host slowdown in the monitoring history file.
The user must specify the following operands in the HA Monitor environment settings beforehand:
-
ph_log_size operand in the HA Monitor environment settings
Specifies a size for a monitoring history file. For details about how to estimate and specify the size of a monitoring history file, see 8.3.1 HA Monitor environment settings (sysdef).
-
ph_threshold operand in the HA Monitor environment settings
Specifies the time when host monitoring history is to be obtained. This value must be the same for the local and remote hosts.
