Some HiRDB commands place a resource in an appropriate lock mode automatically. Thus, when multiple programs (including UAPs) are executing concurrently, the user needs to check the command lock mode table and the UAP (SQL) lock table to determine the combination of lock modes. The following lock modes are referenced in the tables in this appendix:

PR: Shared mode

EX: Lock mode

SR: Shared retrieval mode

SU: Shared update mode

PU: Protected update mode

: The lock mode during acquisition of check pending status is inherited.
