18.1 Functions of the database copy utility
- Executor: HiRDB administrator
- The HiRDB administrator must periodically back up databases to protect against possible database errors. To back up a database, you use the database copy utility. If a disk error or other problem occurs, you can restore the affected database by using a backup copy as the input to the database recovery utility (pdrstr command). The following figure provides an overview of database recovery.
