This function modifies the following RDAREA attributes:

• RDAREA name
• RDAREA open timing
• Automatic extension of RDAREA

Prerequisites

When attribute modification is to be applied to an RDAREA of any of the following types, the RDAREA must be in shutdown and closed status:

• User RDAREA
• User LOB RDAREA
• List RDAREA
• Data dictionary LOB RDAREA
• Registry RDAREA
• Registry LOB RDAREA

If the RDAREA is of any of the following types, it must be in shutdown and open status:

• Data dictionary RDAREA
• Data directory RDAREA

An RDAREA to which attribute modification has been applied inherits its status before attribute modification occurred. Therefore, before you can use the RDAREA, you must use an operation command to release it from the shutdown status.
