This example uses the recovery wizard of HiRDB Control Manager to recover specified RDAREAs. Before you start recovery processing, verify that one of the following conditions is satisfied:

• The automatic log unloading facility is being used.
• Unload log files have been added to HiRDB Control Manager.

For details about how to add unload log files to HiRDB Control Manager, see the HiRDB Control Manager Help.

Procedure

1. Start HiRDB Control Manager - Console.
   For details about how to start HiRDB Control Manager - Console, see F.1 Starting HiRDB Control Manager - Console.
   
2. Register the HiRDB server that is to be subject to the processing.
   Skip this step if the HiRDB server has already been registered. For details about the registration method, see F.2 Registering Management HiRDB.
   
3. From the tab menu, select Recovery and then Wizard to display the Recovery Wizard - Specify Target window.
   As the recovery unit, select Specified RDAREAs.
   Next, from HiRDB systems, Units, and Servers lists, select the HiRDB system, unit, and server to which the target RDAREAs belong. The selected RDAREAs are listed in the RDAREAs list. Select the target RDAREAs from the list.
   
4. Click Next to display the Recovery Wizard - Confirm window.
5. Check the specified conditions, and if there are no problems, click the Run button.
   Recovery processing begins.
   

• When the recovery wizard is used, the HiRDB administrator does not have to specify the most recent backup files and unload log files because HiRDB Control Manager searches for those files automatically.
