Specify the following in the HiRDB system definition:

• Specify a value of 1 or greater for the extension increment in the pd_log_auto_expand_size operand.
  If 0 is specified, the system log file automatic extension facility is not used.

If you are creating a HiRDB file system area in which to create system log files subject to the automatic extension facility, execute the pdfmkfs command with the -a option specified. For details about the pdfmkfs command, see the manual HiRDB Version 9 Command Reference.

Place only one system log file in each HiRDB file system area created using the pdfmkfs -a command. An attempt to create multiple files results in an error.
