3.7 Changing the system log file record length

The system log file record length can be changed. The record length must be 1,024, 2,048, or 4,096 bytes. The system log size can be reduced by selecting a short record length.

The current record length can be determined by executing the pdlogls command.

Notes
  • The same record length must be set for all system log files.
  • If you have selected 2048 or 4096 as the record length for the system log files, specify the selected record length in the pd_log_rec_leng operand. A system log file cannot be opened if its record length does not match the length specified in the pd_log_rec_leng operand.
  • Changing the system log file record length also changes the following:
    [Figure] The total size of all system log files
    [Figure] The size of shared memory used by the unit controller
